There are some big free agents in professional wrestling right now, but one of them was recently taken off the market. Last week Ric Flair appeared on AEW Dynamite for the first time and he indicated that he’ll be with Sting through his retirement match at Revolution in 2024.
It looks like Flair will be sticking around for a while as Tony Khan officially confirmed that The Nature Boy has signed a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling. As part of the deal AEW will also be promoting Ric Flair’s Wooooo! Energy drink.
During a recent interview with ESPN, Ric Flair explained that he originally pitched Wooooo! Energy drink partnership with WWE, but it didn’t end up happening so he approached Tony Khan.
“As a courtesy we ran it by the WWE and they have so much going on, no fault of anybody’s but with the merger and all that they have so much going on that they kind of just, moved past it in other words. It was no disrespect to us whatsoever, they just weren’t doing anything at the time.
“So I ran it by Tony Khan and Tony called me and I put Chad on the phone, the brains behind it all and here we are man. I think it’ll air for the first time this coming Wednesday on Dynamite next Wednesday.”
