Ric Flair Reveals Honest Reaction To His Final Match

For years Ric Flair teased the possibility of him coming out of retirement, and it finally happened when his final match took place on July 31. At 73 years old Ric Flair teamed up with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to defeat the team of Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal in Nashville.

The Nature Boy recently spoke to Lucha Libre Online about his final match, and he revealed that he was very happy with how it all turned out.

“I’m very happy with it. I needed to give it one more shot. I feel like I didn’t go out the right way and to have the relationship now that I do with Andrade, with Charlotte (Flair), to have a son-in-law like him to be a tag team partner, for him to tag with me at this time and have the whole family there and his family, who I have gotten to know well, watched it from Mexico. It was big for all of them,” he said.

“It was especially big for me because my entire family was there and the only person to get an opportunity to do that twice: once in 2008 with Shawn Michaels (at WrestleMania) and now with my son-in-law in Nashville. It was big.”

It seems that Flair’s final match was a success as it was recently reported that the event did 20,000 and 25,000 buys via streaming PPV buys and nearly 4200 buys through traditional pay-per-view. The show also drew over 6,800 fans for a gate of $448,502. It is the second-largest for an independent event in the United States behind 2018’s All In PPV which did 10,541 paid with $458,525.
