John Cena’s farewell tour kicked off last month and following his elimination at the Royal Rumble, Cena it clear that he’s on a quest to win his 17th title.
Over the years there’s been a lot of talk regarding who could potentially break Ric Flair’s record, and Cena is currently tied with The Nature Boy as he’s a 16 time WWE World Champion.
During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Ric Flair praised John Cena and stated that he doesn’t have any issues with Cena breaking his record. However, Ric did note that Charlotte Flair would be his first choice to surpass him.
“To me, I’d like it to be one of three people, Randy, Charlotte, or John. My first pick would be Charlotte. I have so much time for John Cena. He is truly one of the greats in our business. Polite, nice, at least to me. I’d have to be missing something to say that he’s not special. But to me he’s very special.”
John Cena will have another shot at earning a title match at WrestleMania when he steps into the Elimination Chamber on Saturday. The men’s Elimination Chamber match is stacked as John Cena, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul and Damian Priest will all be fighting for a title opportunity.
Stay tuned for updates.
