For some time Triple H and Ric Flair were closely associated on WWE programming while working together in Evolution, and it seems that their working relationship helped to take them both to new heights in their respective careers. The Game and The Nature Boy were also close behind the scenes, but it doesn’t sound like that’s the case nowadays.
Ric Flair recently opened up about his current relationship with Triple H on his To Be The Man podcast, and he noted that although they had a big fallout out over a trademark issue Flair believes they will still show support for one another when needed.
“Well, I don’t think we’re thick as thieves, but I can tell you this. We had a big falling out over the trademark, ‘The Man’ issue, a big falling out. But, I’d be very surprised if I wasn’t in the top 5 people who reached out to Stephanie [McMahon] when he got sick. Certainly, as soon as I became aware of it, I called her and I called him.”
“[Triple H] is the first person I called when [Ric’s son] Reid died. So, for whatever people want to make about our relationship or not, I feel like everybody has ups and downs. You have arguments, you have disagreements. But I can guarantee you this, I will be at his funeral, and I’ll guarantee you this, he will be at mine. Everybody else can say what they want to say, make of it what they want to make of it.”
Flair also noted that he feels he found redemption in his career after WCW thanks to Triple H and Vince McMahon working with him in WWE. The Nature Boy recently wrestled his final match last month when he teamed up with Andrade El Idolo to face Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Luckily for Flair he picked up the victory.
