Ric Flair On Vince McMahon: “I Don’t Care What He Does”

Vince McMahon has been one of the most controversial figures in wrestling for decades now, but the controversy surrounding McMahon picked up big time last year when it was revealed that he paid millions of dollars in hush money payments to suppress allegations of sexual misconduct.

After the allegations surfaced Vince McMahon retired from WWE, but he returned earlier this year to sell the company. The day after WrestleMania 39 it was revealed that Endeavor will acquire WWE, and McMahon made a rare public appearance when he talked about the sale on CNBC.

During a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, Ric Flair talked about the sale and he noted that he just can’t see Vince taking orders from someone else when he said, “I just can’t see Vince taking orders. That will be a strange one for me if someone tried to tell Vince what to do.”

Flair also noted that Vince always treated him with respect as he continued, “I judge people by how they treat me and he has treated me like…I’ve never had anyone treat me with more respect in this business.”

Finally, The Nature Boy called Vince McMahon his hero when he added, “He’s a great guy. I don’t care what he does. He’s my hero.”

The day after WrestleMania 39, Vince McMahon was reportedly firmly in control of Monday Night Raw. While Vince taking control of the show seemed to cause quite the stir, Ric Flair indicated that he thinks Vince is entitled to do what he wants.

“He just spends all day…he’s so invested time-wise and mentally. To me, he’s sharp as a tack. He had a chance, took a break from it, but it gave him a chance to look at the product, come back at it, and fix what he thought was right or wrong. To me, he’s entitled to do that. He owns it, he built it.”
