When Ric Flair parted ways with WWE everyone figured that it was only a matter of time before he ended up in All Elite Wrestling. Many people assumed that The Nature Boy would end up working with his son in law Andrade El Idolo, but the pairing never came to be.
During a recent episode of his To Be The Man podcast Flair confirmed that he had hoped to work with Andrade in AEW. However, Tony Khan decided not to bring him in.
“I haven’t spoken with him, I knew he had a big match … I don’t really what — really haven’t kept track of what he’s doing there,” Flair said. “I had hoped, as I told you before, I wish Tony would have let me manage him. He is an absolutely phenomenal work and tough kid. I wish I could have managed him, but I guess Tony elected not to go with me for whatever reason.”
Andrade is set to take on Dark Order’s 10 this week on Rampage in a Mask vs. Career match that will see Andrade leave AEW for good if he loses. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
