Ric Flair had “Stone Cold” Steve Austin as a guest on his “WOOOOO! Nation With Ric Flair” podcast.
They discussed John Cena breaking Ric Flair’s record of 16 World Championships. Austin was very adamant about Flair’s reigns having more of a special meaning to him in particular.
Austin went on to say that if Cena was to eclipse the Nature Boy’s mark, that Vinnie Mac should do something to distinguish Flair’s reigns.
“He’ll make up something that if [Cena] gets to 17, his were all WWE and Ric’s place is still special,” given that eight of the titles were from NWA. Austin continued, “so with all due respect to John Cena, if he was to get to 17 and they eclipse your number 16, does it mean the same in a guy’s book like mine, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, my thoughts? It’s not even the same ballpark.”
In true Nature Boy fashion though, Flair doesn’t seem to care about any of it…
“I don’t care. I don’t think about it. I don’t have any belts hanging in my room. I’m lucky. I have more fun than anybody alive. That I know for sure.”
Ric Flair, we salute you. WOOOOO!
