Rhea Ripley Wins 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble Match

The annual Royal Rumble premium live event aired live from San Antonio on Saturday night and the men’s Royal Rumble match kicked off the show. Cody Rhodes ended up winning the match when he eliminated Gunther to earn a title shot at WrestleMania 39.

The women’s Royal Rumble match aired later in the night and Rhea Ripley entered first to a big reaction from the crowd. Liv Morgan entered second. Natalya made her big return at number eleven and she immediately targeted Shayna Baszler.

Becky Lynch entered the match at number fifteen and Bayley threw hew through the middle rope. Damage CTRL teamed up to beat down Becky down and they tossed her over the announce table to incapacitate her.

Asuka made her big return at number seventeen with a slightly different version of her entrance music and new face paint. Doudrop returned at number eighteen under the name Piper Niven. Shortly after Becky Lynch got back into the match.

Chelsea Green then made her return at number twenty and was immediately eliminated by Rhea Ripley. Michael Cole announced that she broke the record for the shortest time in Royal Rumble history.

Bayley then eliminated Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan eliminated Bayley while Damage CTRL beat down Lynch on the outside. Michelle McCool was announced at number twenty five and she entered from the front row where she was sitting and watching the match with her kids. She hit Zelina Vega with the Facebreaker pretty much immediately. Indi Hartwell entered the match at a number twenty six, with Sonya Deville at twenty seven, and Shotzi with her tank at twenty eight. Nikki Cross entered at number twenty nine.

The final entrant was former Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax who returned at number thirty. All of the women teamed up to eliminate her. It came down to Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross and Asuka.

Morgan eliminated Cross. The fans went crazy as Morgan, Asuka and Ripley faced off. Rhea Ripley eliminated Asuka after she spit mist in the eyes of Liv Morgan on the apron. Rhea Ripley then battled Liv on the apron and eliminated her.
