Rey Mysterio Pulled From NJPW Strong Style Evolved, Update On His WWE Status

Rey Mysterio is the man that everyone is talking about at the moment, because the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was scheduled for a match with Jushin “Thunder” Liger at NJPW Strong Style Evolved this weekend, but that match won’t be happening.

Due to the bicep injury he suffered a few weeks ago, Mysterio has been pulled from the match, and he will be replaced by Will Ospreay who will face Liger on Sunday.

After suffering the injury it wasn’t clear whether or not he was going to wrestle at Strong Style Evolved, but it looks like the decision has been made.

As far as his WWE status goes, PWInsider is reporting that Rey will be traveling to Birmingham, Alabama this week to have his partially torn bicep checked out before potentially signing a new deal with the company.

Hopefully the examination goes well for Rey Mysterio, as he looked great at the Royal Rumble, and there are quite a few people who would love to see him return to the ring as soon as possible.
