Rey Mysterio has been making big moves as of late. He returned to WWE for a quick appearance at the Royal Rumble, he’s set to face Jushin “Thunder” Liger at NJPW Strong Style Evolved later this month, and now he’s become a part owner of a wrestling company.
The Tennessean reports that Rey has joined Aro Lucha as both a performer and part owner, and he’s going to be appearing on the first season of the promotion’s show.
It’s also been announced that fans will have their chance to own a piece of the company as Aro Lucha will be selling minority shares to fans.
“I think what we are doing with Aro Lucha being fan-owned is revolutionary,” Mysterio said. “We are giving the fans something they have never had before, a voice and a chance to get in on the action.”
Aro Lucha was co-founded by Jason Brown, and Ron and Don Harris, and Brown says that fans who purchase shares of the company will have a voice.
“This gives fans a chance to get in on the action, but more so than that it really gives them a voice,” Brown said. “Especially at a company like ours, fans are so passionate. They critique every storyline, every character. Well we’re able now to actually listen to them.”
