Rey Mysterio No Longer Negotiating With GFW

Rey Mysterio parted ways with WWE a few years ago, and it was recently reported that the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was negotiating with Global Force Wrestling. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting that talks between Mysterio and GFW have fallen through because Rey is heavily involved with The Crash, and there have been too many issues between the two sides as of late.

GFW officials had plans to film an angle at AAA Triplemania that would have set up a match between Alberto El Patron and Jeff Jarrett for the Bound For Glory pay-per-view, but Alberto was not at Triplemania due to his issues with AAA. The plan was for Alberto to blame Jarrett for his suspension from GFW in order to kick off a feud between the two stars.

One idea that was pitched would have seen Jarrett and Alberto build up the match at Bound For Glory, only for Jarrett to reveal that it was all a swerve, and announce Rey Mysterio as Alberto’s opponent the night of the show.

However, negotiations are no longer ongoing and any talks of Rey Mysterio possibly working with GFW appear to be dead at the moment.
