Following his surprise appearance at the 2018 Royal Rumble, everyone’s talking about Rey Mysterio. Rey is a hot topic right now, and he recently surprised fans when he challenged Jushin “Thunder” Liger to a match in NJPW.
Mysterio and Liger will be facing off next month, but it’s believed that Mysterio will ultimately end up signing a WWE contract sometime over the next year or so. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion recently spoke to Inside The Ropes about wrestlers he would like to face in WWE, and he noted that AJ Styles is at the top of the list.
“Man, there are so many strong names that have been around for quite some time. AJ Styles is one of them. I think AJ and myself would have a really good run together. Finn Balor. Think I’d have a really good run with Finn.”
Rey Mysterio was one of the break out stars of the cruiserweight division during his run with WCW, and he was also asked about possibly joining the 205 Live brand. Mysterio says he wants to give the fans whatever they want to see.
“You know there’ve been a lot of names thrown around there. If Rey comes back, would he be part of the 205? Would he be part of the Cruiserweight Division? It’s just hard to say. I think whatever the fans wanna see…if I do come back, that’s what we’ll give them.”
