Rey Mysterio is once again making headlines thanks to his surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble a few weeks ago, and more fans seem to agree that Rey looked great. Rey received a great reaction when he entered the Royal Rumble match, and now everyone’s wondering what’s next for the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Mysterio seems to be open to working with WWE again under the right circumstances, but it was recently reported that he had been talking with Impact Wrestling. At one point it was believed that Rey was close to working the last set of TV tapings in Orlando, but talks between the two sides fell through.
PWInsider is now reporting that word among the talents is that the company had negotiated a deal for Mysterio to appear at the tapings, but something went wrong when Konnan got involved, and the deal was never finalized.
Travel arrangements for Mysterio were reportedly set up at one point, but Rey’s big Impact debut was canceled.
Impact Wrestling had hoped to work something out with Mysterio for the TV tapings in May, but Rey has said recently that there’s a “big possibility” he will return to WWE, and the two sides are currently trying to work out a deal.
