Last year talk of The Lucha Bros. making the jump to WWE started to pick up in a big way. Ultimately Penta ended up parting ways with AEW when his contract expired, but Rey Fenix is still with the company as injury time was added to his deal.
After months of speculation Penta finally made his big debut on Monday Night Raw this week. Penta picked up a win over Chad Gable on Raw, and the former AEW star got a big reaction from the fans in attendance at the SAP Center.
Rey Fenix recently took to social media to congratulate Penta on his WWE debut when he posted the following:
“Congratulations bro ❤️
Without a doubt MY FAVORITE FIGHTER!
You deserve all the best for all you’ve worked for, the #1 FIGHTER.
I am very proud to be your brother and see how you have achieved all your dreams, I LOVE YOU ❤️ and FEAR.”
Felicidades carnal ❤️
It’s not clear exactly when Fenix’s AEW contract will expire, but it’s been reported that the deal runs well into 2025. Judging from the reaction Penta received on Raw it’s probably safe to say that WWE will still be interested in Rey Fenix when he becomes a free agent.
Stay tuned for updates.
