Braun Strowman has been feuding with Roman Reigns for months now, and a few weeks ago their rivalry was really picking up steam, but it had to be put on hold once it was discovered that Braun was dealing with a shattered elbow.
After Braun underwent surgery, WWE had to make some major changes to their creative plans, and they claimed that Braun Strowman could be out of action for up to six months. It was recently reported that Strowman had been cleared to return to the ring, and it was also rumored that he would be showing up on this week’s episode of Raw.
Roman Reigns kicked off the show with a promo, and after he made some comments about Samoa Joe, Joe made his way to the ring. One thing led to another, and a match was booked between Roman and Joe for later in the show.
During the match Roman Reigns was setting Joe up for a spear, when suddenly a beeping sound from an ambulance backing up flooded the arena. An ambulance then appeared on the screen and Braun Strowman jumped out of it.
After Roman Reigns lost his match to Samoa Joe due to the distraction, Braun made his way down to the ring and destroyed an already weak Roman Reigns then challenged him to an ambulance match at Great Balls of Fire.
Kurt Angle later made the match official.
