Wrestling isn’t ballet, and if you wrestle long enough it’s bound to take a toll on your body. Unfortunately quite a few stars have had to retire before they might have liked to, but sometimes retired wrestlers get a second chance.
A few years ago former WWE Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella was forced to retire from in ring action due to a neck injury, but it looks like he could be lacing up the boots once again in the future.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Santino Marella has plans to get back in the ring and wrestle for his Battle Arts Academy which is based out of Mississauga, ON. At this point there’s no word on when his return to the ring might take place or who he could be facing.
Santino Marella made his debut during an episode of Raw which took place from Milan, Italy in 2007 and he defeated Umaga to win the Intercontinental Championship in his first match with WWE.
He went on to win the WWE United States Title and the WWE Tag Team Titles with Vladimir Kozlov.
Marella announced that he was retiring from in ring competition in 2014, and in May of 2016 he parted ways with WWE.
