WWE has been making some cuts following the merger with UFC and this week several WWE Superstars were released from their contracts. Mace and Mansoor happened to be two of the wrestlers who were released and they’ve been actively talking about their WWE run on Twitch.
Last year it seemed that Mace and Mansoor were set to receive a decent amount of TV time thanks to the Maximum Male Models gimmick, but they were rarely featured on WWE programming after Triple H took over creative and it seems that the gimmick was quietly dropped.
Even though Mace and Mansoor weren’t appearing on TV it looks like they were actively trying to come up with a new gimmick and Mansoor recently shared a vignette showing one of the gimmicks that they pitched.
“After MMM ended, we got right to work filming new ideas for WWE. Here’s one of those pitches, inspired by Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. What do you think? Could you have seen this on TV?”
It’s not clear at this point in time why WWE didn’t move forward with the gimmick, but Mansoor noted that they will be discussing all of their creative pitches and more on Twitch at 9 PM EST on Saturday. Stay tuned for updates.
