A number of former football players have made the jump to professional wrestling over the years, and now a recently released WWE star is set to join the NFL. Today the Buffalo Bills confirmed that they signed Gable Steveson when the team posted the following on social media:

ESPN is reporting that the the Olympic gold medal winner signed a three year deal with the Buffalo Bills. Steveson issued the following statement to ESPN regarding the signing:
“I have been fortunate to compete at the highest level of competition in my sport but am looking forward to the challenge of seeing how my wrestling skills may translate to football. I am grateful to Coach [Sean] McDermott, [GM] Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills organization for giving me this opportunity.”
Gable Steveson first signed with WWE in 2021 and he was drafted to the Monday Night Raw brand. However, he was quietly moved to NXT in the years that followed and he wrestled his debut match against Baron Corbin at NXT Great American Bash in July of 2023. Steveson was released from his WWE contract earlier this month.
