Over the last few years a number of Superstars have been released from WWE due to budget cuts, but now that a new regime is in charge there’s been a lot of excitement as fans speculate on who could be returning.
In recent weeks fans have seen names like Dakota Kai, Dexter Lumis, Karrion Kross and Hit Row return to the company, and now it seems that Lio Rush is teasing a possible return. The former NXT Cruiserweight Champion recently took to Instagram to post a series of photos of himself with Bobby Lashley which got people talking.
Lio Rush worked as a manager for Bobby Lashley from September of 2018 through WrestleMania 35 in 2019 and Rush later returned to NXT after spending several months on the sidelines. After another run with NXT, Rush was released in April of 2020.
Last year it was announced that Lio Rush had signed with All Elite Wrestling, but his contract with the company expired months ago. Stay tuned for more updates on a possible WWE return for Lio Rush as they become available.
