Anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling, and in recent weeks it’s been rumored that former WWE star Erick Rowan could be returning to the company. PWInsider is now reporting that Erick Rowan has officially signed a new contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.
Word of Erick Rowan’s potential return started gaining traction recently when an independent promotion issued a statement noting that the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion pulled out of their event due to new contractual obligations.
Back in 2011, Erick Rowan first signed a developmental deal with WWE and he went on to work as a member of The Wyatt Family in NXT. Rowan then become a regular on the main roster when The Wyatt Family got called up in 2013. Erick Rowan continued to make appearances on the main roster untile he was released from WWE in 2020 due to budget cuts.
Following his WWE release, Erick Rowan appeared on the independent circuit as Erick Redbeard. He also made appearances on All Elite Wrestling programming.
It’s been rumored that Bo Dallas could be returning as the Uncle Howdy character and WWE has been seemingly teasing the return with cryptic messages on TV in recent weeks. Nothing has been confirmed, but naturally fans have been speculating that Rowan could be involved with Bo’s return in some form.
