Cody Rhodes has been battling in the TNT Championship tournament for weeks, and on Saturday night he faced Lance Archer in the finals at Double or Nothing.
When it was all said and done it was Cody who picked up the win over Lance Archer to become the first ever TNT Champion.
This week on AEW Dynamite Cody vowed to be a fighting champion, and he declared that he will defend the title every week on Dynamite in an open challenge.
Former WWE Superstar Zack Ryder is clearly paying attention, as he reacted to Cody’s announcement when he posted the following on Twitter:
Zack Ryder was just one of many talents who were released from WWE last month due to coronavirus related budget cuts.
It’s believed that Ryder will be free to go anywhere when his non-compete clause expires on July 15th.
At this point it’s not clear if he’ll be joining All Elite Wrestling or not, but it’s worth noting that following Zack Ryder’s release Cody Rhodes took to social media to share a lengthy post praising Ryder.
