Over the last few years WWE has released a number of wrestlers including Jaxson Ryker. The former WWE star first signed with the company in 2017, but he was let go in November of 2021, and now it seems that his career is coming to an end.
Recently during an appearance on Wrestling For The Faith, Ryker explained that he has a few more shows booked, but he’s getting ready to hang up the boots for good and move on to a new phase of his life.
“I’ll admit, I’ve been wishy-washy, okay? ‘I wanna do this, I don’t wanna do this.’ But I do feel like, man, it’s time to step away. Not necessarily doesn’t mean I won’t do guest ref spots or sign some autographs or use it as a ministry.”
“But the in-ring action is just — I think it’s time to step away just because of injuries. It’s time to pursue a different career so I spoke to you (podcast co-host) about it and I have four shows booked.”
Ryker went on to say that he feels blessed, but noted that he’s ready to pursue a new career when he added, “But it’s just gotten to a point to where I think I’m ready to press on into a new career and being 40, almost 41, I’ve been blessed. I’ve had an amazing, amazing career. What else do I have left to prove? Go work some indie shows and get hurt? I just can’t do it. But, it is.”
During his time with WWE, Jaxson Ryker never managed to capture championship gold, but during his TNA run he became a one time TNA TV Champion and a one time TNA Tag Team Champion.
Stay tuned for more updates on Jaxson Ryker’s status as they become available.
