Everyone knows that a big Money in the Bank can change the course of a wrestler’s career and there have been many WWE stars who have taken their careers to the next level with the MITB contract. Back in 2022 it was Austin Theory who won the Money in the Bank contract, but it sounds like another interesting name may have been considered for the win.
During a recent Signed By Superstars virtual signing former WWE star Matt Riddle claimed that he was set to win the Money in the Bank contract before plans were changed hours before the match.
“Wanna hear something else cool? I was supposed to win Money in the Bank but Vince (McMahon) really likes Austin Theory and literally hours before, they changed it and Austin was added in and threw me off the ladder. After I took two huge ladder bumps off the RKO and everything else and it’s like… But, I love Austin Theory and I’m happy for him. Keep killing it bro.”
Unfortunately for Matt Riddle he didn’t win the Money in the Bank contract, and unfortunately for Austin Theory his cash in attempt was unsuccessful.
Do you think WWE made the right call when they let Austin Theory win Money in the Bank? Sound off in the comments below.
