Released WWE Star Claims Paul Heyman Told Him He Was Going To Main Event WrestleMania

Last year Paul Heyman was named Executive Director of Monday Night Raw, and in the months that followed his fingerprints could clearly be seen on the show.

One of the more controversial storylines on Monday Night Raw involved Miro, then known as Rusev, and his real life wife Lana who was having an on screen affair with Bobby Lashley.

The story dominated WWE programming for months, but ultimately it amounted to nothing and fizzled out. Miro talked about the storyline on a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, and he claims that Paul Heyman told him that he and Lashley were going to main event WrestleMania.

“I think Paul Heyman called us with that story and I was like ‘where is it leading?’ Of course, this is my first question. Cool, it’s not my favourite story but where is it leading? ‘Main event of WrestleMania. One of the main events of WrestleMania’. When you hear that, what are you going to say? There’s plans. This is September, October, whatever it was so it was a few months planned and it’s very realistic. Cool, I jumped on board and I knew it was a red flag since the beginning.”
