For years now Cody Rhodes has been talking about bringing back the famous Winged Eagle title belt, and Triple H gifted him a mystery item ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The item was revealed to be the Winged Eagle belt which Cody wore to the ring on Saturday night.
The American Nightmare managed to successfully defend the title, but the belt was stolen by Kevin Owens after Saturday Night’s Main Event went off the air.
The Winged Eagle is one of the most popular WWE Championship designs, and there are currently a number of Winged Eagle replicas for sale on WWE Shop. Andrew Zarian is reporting that he had a conversation with someone at WWE months ago who told him that merch sales would play a big part when it comes to WWE bring the title back.

Kevin Owens recently declared that he is the “true WWE Champion” and he also indicated that he will be bringing the Winged Eagle belt with him on WWE’s upcoming holiday tour.
