There was a little speculation about Naomi dealing with a minor ankle injury, but she will be defending the title against Bliss in her rematch. Another title change would be an interesting swerve, but some new information has come to light about Naomi’s title reign heading into WrestleMania 33.
CageSideSeats is reporting that Naomi is expected to hold the SmackDown Women’s Title through WrestleMania because she’s from Orlando. WWE officials want her to receive a huge face reaction and hold the championship through whatever match she has at the event.
It’s also being reported that Naomi may not defend the title at WrestleMania. She could be a part of a tag team match or something else on the card, but WWE still wants Naomi to get a strong reaction from the Orlando crowd, which will hopefully elevate her stock as champion.
