The WrestleMania 42 card has been coming together in recent weeks and the lineup for night 1 and night 2 was officially announced on ESPN earlier today. Iyo Sky vs. Asuka has been rumored for the show, but fans couldn’t help but notice that it was not featured on the lineup that was revealed on ESPN.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Iyo Sky vs. Asuka has not been officially announced for WrestleMania 42 just yet because Nikki Bella is not cleared for in-ring competition.
If Nikki is not clear Asuka & Kairi Sane will take the place of The Bella Twins in the four way match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. If Nikki Bella is cleared then Iyo Sky vs. Asuka will be added to the WrestleMania 42 card. At this point it’s unclear what WWE will do with Iyo Sky if Asuka is added to the tag team match.
WWE recently confirmed that Nikki Bella suffered an ankle injury when The Bella Twins faced off against Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss on the March 27 episode of SmackDown. Nikki has been wearing a walking boot since then, but she has not been given a clean bill of health as of this writing.
