On Saturday night the Smackville special aired live on the WWE Network, and Finn Balor was originally advertised for an Intercontinental Championship match against Shinsuke Nakamura, but WWE announced that Finn Balor had been pulled from the show due to an “undisclosed injury.”
Ali ended up replacing Finn Balor, and he went on to lose his match against Shinsuke Nakamura.
According to PWInsider, Balor was pulled from the event because he is dealing with an illness. He is not injured.
It was announced last week that Finn Balor will be facing Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam, and he’s expected to take a sabbatical from WWE in the future.
