For many years Monday Night Raw was a two hour show, but in 2012 WWE announced that Raw would become a 3 hour show, and it’s been a 3 hour show ever since.
The three hour show format is no doubt beneficial for WWE from a business standpoint, but there are more than a few people out there who agree that sometimes the show struggles to maintain excitement throughout the 3 hour time period.
But big changes could be coming for Raw, as it’s expected that WWE will announce a new television deal at some point this year, and it’s been reported that FOX may be making a play for Raw and SmackDown Live.
A broadcaster from a FOX affiliate station recently asked Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer about potential changes to Raw if the show moves to FOX, and Meltzer noted that the show would go back to 2 hours.
Only time will tell if Raw will end up moving to FOX, but it’s worth noting that FOX execs were in attendance for SmackDown Live this week, so there appears to be interest on their end.
