Tuesday night was a big night for wrestling fans this week as NXT went head to head with AEW Dynamite. Both companies loaded up their respective shows and there was a lot of talk about which brand would win the battle for ratings this week.
It looks like NXT came out on top as Wrestlenomics is reporting that an average of 921,000 viewers watched the show with a 0.30 in the 18 to 49 demo. AEW Dynamite on TBS averaged 609,000 people with a 0.26 in the 18 to 49 demographic.
NXT featured advertised appearances from Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Paul Heyman and Asuka with the company heavily teasing an appearance from The Undertaker. Ultimately The Undertaker did show up as he chokeslammed Bron Breakker after Breakker was defeated by Carmelo Hayes in the main event.
NXT also featured surprise appearances from Dominik Mysterio who challenged Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship, and LA Knight who worked as the special guest referee for the match.
AEW Dynamite featured Orange Cassidy winning the AEW International Championship, Hikaru Shida winning the AEW Women’s Championship for a third time, and Adam Copeland’s in-ring debut against Luchasaurus.
