A few months ago The Miz inserted himself into the title picture when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and defeated Drew McIntyre to become the WWE Champion for the second time in his career.
The Miz hadn’t been WWE Champion since he dropped the title in 2011, and his title win was covered in his new WWE 24 documentary. In the documentary Randy Orton praised The Miz and congratulated him after he won the belt.
“Congrats. Congrats, man, you earned it and you deserve it,” Orton said.
When The Miz cashed in Money in the Bank to win the WWE Championship for the first time in his career he cashed in on Randy Orton on Raw in November of 2010.
Although his recent title run was short, The Miz explained why he was ok with only having an eight day reign in a recent interview, and you can get more on that here.
