After 9 years away from the ring Edge made his return during the Royal Rumble match on Sunday night.
The WWE Hall of Famer made his way down to the ring to talk about his return in the main event segment of Raw this week, and the fans made it clear that they were happy to have him back.
Eventually Randy Orton made his way to the ring and gave Edge a hug. He welcomed him back and asked if he would get Rated RKO back together one more time.
The fans chanted “yes” and as Edge got teary eyed Randy Orton turned on him and hit him with the RKO.
Orton then grabbed a chair and starting beating Edge down. He wrapped the chair around Edge’s neck and went to the middle rope. It seemed as if Orton was going to stomp on the chair, but he got down off the ropes, pulled Edge’s head out of the chair and started to leave.
That’s when The Viper had second thoughts and returned to the ringside area where he grabbed two chairs, and hit Edge with a conchairto as the show went off the air.
