Randy Orton is a former WWE World Champion, and it’s safe to say that he’ll be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame someday. After Orton made his WWE main roster debut it didn’t take long for him to make it to the top of the industry, but even at this stage of his career he’s still open to learning new things.
Back in 2011, Randy Orton was involved in a feud with Christian that was arguably one of the best feuds of Orton’s career. Even though Orton had held major titles several times before, Christian had just won his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship which he quickly dropped to The Viper, and the feud carried the blue brand for an entire summer.
Orton recently appeared on E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness, and he praised Edge and Christian for helping him throughout his career, and he talked about what he learned from his feud with Christian in 2011.
“If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be here, That run in 2011 really helped me out in many aspects. Confidence in the ring, everything. Even that period, that late in my career, I still didn’t have the most confidence. I’d be down on myself sometimes. You guys were always good about talking me up. I appreciate everything you guys have done for me, especially Jay in 2011. You still taught me that, even though I had been in the business so long, that we could slow it down even further,” Orton said via WrestlingInc. “Even though I was putting the majority of the matches together, I was learning from you in those ways, and what we put together here could get a better reaction.”
Unfortunately it’s highly unlikely that we’ll ever see Orton and Christian face off again, but Randy Orton is still trying to create new rivalries that fans will remember, and it looks like he’ll be wrestling inside a WWE ring for years to come.
