Randy Orton has been in the professional wrestling business for decades now and throughout the course of his career he’s crossed paths with some of the biggest names in the industry.
The Viper has defeated enough legends to earn himself the nickname Legend Killer, but there was once a time when a young Randy Orton was just trying to get established in WWE.
Recently Randy Orton discussed his early days during an appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Podcast, and he noted that he didn’t think highly of former WWE Champion Shawn Michaels when they first met.
“I was lucky to have some great men in the locker room, kind of see how they went about life and how they were with their kids. I got to see Shawn Michaels, who, on all accounts was a complete as*hole. And when I met him I even thought he was a pr*ck. But, I saw the change and I heard the stories… And I feel like, it’s kind of funny, the same thing kind of happened to me. Kind of. You know, it’s part of the journey. I think my legacy is the longevity.”
“My attitude when I was in my mid-20s, I think I walked around with a chip on my shoulder. I think it came across as me being stuck up or a narcissist. I think that was kind of cover for me and my insecurities.”
It was revealed earlier this week that Randy Orton will be entering the 30 man Royal Rumble match on Saturday, January 29th. Stay tuned for updates.
