WrestleMania 41 featured some huge moments and John Cena stepped into the ring on Sunday night when he challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the night two main event.
Ultimately Cena won his 17th WWE World Championship after he hit Cody Rhodes in the head with the title belt and pinned him. The Raw after WrestleMania is always one of the biggest shows of the year, and John Cena kicked the show off when he made his way down to the ring for a promo.
Cena entered the ring to heavy boos from the crowd then summoned ring announcer Mark Shunock the ring. He stopped Mark and made him stand on the ring apron for a minute, then called him into the ring, and handed him a note.
Mark Shunock read the note which said, “My sincerest apologies, I’ve been informed that my announcement has been deemed disrespectful. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the greatest of all time, gracing Las Vegas with his presence for the final time, the last real champion John Cena.”
Finally John Cena held up the belt and told the fans that winners write history. He then informed them that they are not worthy. Cena criticized the fans for cheering him on Raw after booing him on SmackDown last week. He told them that’s not how a functional relationship works, and every one of them owes him an apology, but they don’t have the courage to do it. The fans chanted “We aren’t sorry!”
John Cena pointed to the screen which showed that number 36 to indicate that he only had 36 dates on his retirement tour. He counted down the dates to show that he only has 27 dates left before he’s completely retired. Cena said when the countdown hits 0 the wrestling timeline stops.
The Undisputed WWE Champion recalled some of the biggest names who have held the title then said that the lineage of the belt comes home with him when he leaves.
John Cena mentioned Cody Rhodes as the fans booed. He criticized the fans for booing Cody Rhodes. Cena said no one in WWE has the wisdom, speed, or ruthless aggression of John Cena. The champion told the fans to get out their cameras so they could remember this moment.
Cena held up the belt and told everyone to get a good picture because the last real champion is here. As he was posing with the belt Randy Orton appeared out of nowhere and hit Cena with the RKO. Randy Orton then picked up the Undisputed WWE Championship and held the belt up while the fans cheered.
