Randy Orton Asks Former WWE World Champion For One More Match

Randy Orton is no stranger to championship gold. He’s held numerous titles throughout the course of his career, and he’s managed to become WWE World Champion 13 times. Orton attempted to become WWE Champion for the 14th time in his career Sunday night when he faced Jinder Mahal in the Punjabi Prison match at Battleground, but Orton was unsuccessful in his attempt to win the belt.

Orton is pretty much a guaranteed Hall of Famer at this point, and he’s had some great feuds for the WWE World Championship in the past. One of Randy’s greatest rivals was Christian, and in 2011 they brought out the best in each other when they fought over the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Randy ended up coming out on top in their rivalry, but that didn’t stop Christian from asking for “one more match” every chance he got.

Now Randy Orton is the one asking for one more match after Christian posted a photo of his wrestling boots on Twitter.

However, it doesn’t look like Christian will be stepping back into the right anytime soon, as he brushed the comment off with laughter.

WWE now considers Christian to be retired due to the concussions he’s suffered over the course of his career. Last year Christian noted on Talk Is Jericho that even though WWE officials didn’t discuss anything with him officially, he’s accepted his status.

“Honestly, we haven’t even sat down and had that conversation yet. So in my mind, it’s probably the last time. But when I look back on it, it’s one of those things. I think if it had been taken away kind of abruptly when I was like 29 or 30, and I still had so much left to accomplish, like, honestly, I probably accomplished more than I ever dreamed that I would.”

On this week’s episode we’re talking to Simon Grimm, aka Simon Gotch about what’s next for his career and more. In the episode Simon goes into some interesting ideas that he pitched to WWE creative, where he wants to wrestle next, and he also shares the story of how he found out The Vaudevillains were getting called up to the WWE main roster. We’re also sharing our predictions for the WWE Battleground pay-per-view and more. You can subscribe to Still Real Radio on iTunes, and you can also check out the latest episode below.
