CM Punk walked away from the professional wrestling business back in 2014, and he later went on to announce that he would be competing in UFC. Punk made his debut at UFC 203 when he faced off against Mickey Gall in 2016, and he returned to the octagon one more time when he faced Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in June of 2018.
The former WWE Champion lost both of his fights in UFC, but the decision for his UFC 225 bout against Mike Jackson has been overturned according to MMA Junkie.
The report notes that Punk’s unanimous decision loss to Jackson was overturned and is now considered to be a no contest, but the change was not revealed publicly until now. Jackson reportedly tested positive for marijuana on fight night which is why the decision was changed.
Mike Jackson tested positive for “tetrahydrocannabinol due to marijuana,” and his discipline was reportedly finalized with the signatures of all parties in October of 2018. Not only was the decision overturned, but Jackson was also suspended retroactive three months to the positive test.
Neither Punk nor Jackson returned a request for comment, but Jackson did post the following reaction on Instagram:
