Post-Surgery Update On WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose

Monday night on Raw, Dean Ambrose was written off TV after he was brutally assaulted by Cesaro, Sheamus and Samoa Joe, and it was later revealed that Ambrose recently suffered an arm injury.

WWE has now confirmed that Dean Ambrose underwent surgery in Birmingham, Alabama, and the operation took about 40 minutes.

“He tore some of the distal triceps tendon where it attaches to the forearm bone, called the olecranon,” Dr. Dugas told WWE.com. “He basically tore about 50 percent of the triceps tendon away from the bone. So yesterday we repaired that back down to the bone where it tore off of. The surgery was very straightforward; we removed all of the extra bursal tissue — all of that extra swollen stuff around his elbow.”

Ambrose has already started doing light physical therapy exercises, and it’s expected that he’ll be leaving Birmingham today.

At this point there’s no estimated timetable in regards to his return to the ring, but he’s been removed from advertisements for upcoming WWE live events over the next few weeks.

Hopefully Ambrose can make a speedy recovery and get back to doing what he does best as soon as possible.
