It’s been rumored for years now that WWE is hoping to book The Rock vs. Roman Reigns on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and there’s been a lot of speculation that the match could happen next year at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood.
Back in April the match was teased on an episode of the Young Rock TV series in a flashback where Roman Reigns tried to convince The Rock to wrestle him and Rock responded with, “No, the world is not ready! A match that big can happen only happen at WrestleMania.”
During the most recent episode a scene which took place in the future was featured on the show, and in the background a blue Universal Championship belt could be seen seemingly implying that The Rock beat Roman Reigns to win the title at some point.
Another potentially HUGE #YoungRock easter egg I missed last night that my friend pointed out to me.
On the Prime Minister's case that holds all of The Rock's past accomplishments, the centerpiece on top is the blue Universal Championship that Roman Reigns currently holds… 👀 pic.twitter.com/FVvniHGn3g

At this point it’s not clear if a Rock vs. Roman Reigns match will happen next year, but WWE is reportedly looking to finalize plans for the WrestleMania main event by mid-January, so only time will tell. Stay tuned for updates.
