On Sunday night Kofi Kingston successfully defended his WWE Championship against Samoa Joe at Extreme Rules, and when it was all said and done it was Kofi who walked out with the title.
This week on SmackDown Live, Samoa Joe, Elias and Randy Orton came out to confront The New Day, and during their promo Randy Orton said that he wants to win the WWE Championship again.
Eventually The New Day ended up facing off against Randy Orton, Elias and Samoa Joe in a six man tag team match, and Randy Orton got the win for his team when he hit Kofi with the RKO then pinned him.
It will be interesting to see where things go from here, as Kofi doesn’t have an opponent for SummerSlam just yet, but with Orton getting the pin over Kofi on Tuesday it would seem that WWE may be lining him up for a title shot..
