SmackDown is moving to the USA Network tonight and this week’s episode is being advertised as the season premiere. It’s safe to say that WWE will be looking to pull out all the stops tonight and it sounds like we could potentially see appearances from some familiar names.
PWInsider is reporting that WWE has discussed the idea of bringing in several legends for the SmackDown season premiere. Rob Van Dam, Booker T, Ron Simmons and Teddy Long are some of the names that have been mentioned backstage.
However, it’s important to note that none of the aforementioned names have been spotted at the venue as of this writing. It was noted that their names have been discussed among WWE creative over the last two days.
It’s been confirmed that Cody Rhodes will be defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa inside a steel cage tonight. Cody vs. Solo will kick off SmackDown, and Nick Aldis recently announced that the first 30 minutes of tonight’s show will be commercial free.
