Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live is set to take place from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas and there are some important questions that need to be addressed following last week’s episode.
Last Tuesday on SmackDown, Shane McMahon booked Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens for WrestleMania 34, and he also announced that he’ll be taking a leave of absence from his position as Commissioner of SmackDown. Zayn and Owens then followed up by destroying Shane McMahon as the show went off the air.
General Manager Daniel Bryan is set to return to SmackDown tonight, and his return is highly anticipated now that WWE has announced the former World Heavyweight Champion has been cleared for in-ring competition.
PWInsider reports that the word backstage is Daniel Bryan will be opening SmackDown tonight, and he’s expected to address the Shane McMahon situation.
Whether or not Bryan will be getting physically involved in the McMahon/Zayn/Owens situation remains to be seen, but now that he’s been cleared that option appears to be on the table.
WWE Champion AJ Styles was pulled from live events over the weekend, but it is being reported that Styles is backstage at the arena in Dallas. As far as plans for Styles go, word is that Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rusev is booked for tonight’s show, and AJ will be sitting in on commentary.
