Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair picked up big wins in their respective Royal Rumble matches earlier this month, but now that the Royal Rumble has come and gone all eyes are looking ahead to the Elimination Chamber.

The men’s Royal Rumble match came to an end when Jey Uso eliminated John Cena to secure the victory. During the post-show press conference Cena declared that he will be entering the men’s Elimination Chamber match and Triple H later confirmed that Cena does not have to qualify for the match.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that John Cena winning the Elimination Chamber to set up Cena vs. Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania has been the plan since October or November. The idea is for the match to be one of the WrestleMania main events with the story being that John Cena is going for his 17th world championship.

John Cena is not expected to be on TV during the build for Elimination Chamber as he’ll be in Hungary filming the Matchbox movie. Cena reportedly has 36 dates on his contract for 2025, and he’ll have 33 dates left following Elimination Chamber, so the expectation is that he’ll be more of a regular character on WWE TV after he’s done filming the movie.
