It’s been an action packed few weeks for All Elite Wrestling and one of the things that got fans talking was the debut of Claudio Castagnoli. The former WWE star debuted for AEW at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view where he defeated Zack Sabre Jr. in his first match with the company.
Recently it was announced that Claudio will have his chance to win championship gold when he challenges Jonathan Gresham for the ROH World Title at the upcoming ROH Death before Dishonor pay-per-view.
During the AEW Dark tapings in Orlando on Saturday Jonathan Gresham faced off against Jordan Oasis. It’s worth noting that this was the first time Gresham appeared on AEW or ROH programming without the ROH World Championship which could be an indication that he’ll be dropping the belt to Claudio Castagnoli at Death Before Dishonor.
It’s always possible that the match could air on AEW Dark before the ROH pay-per-view on July 23, but the fact that Gresham didn’t have the title with him is interesting to say the least. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
