This week during the special Legends Night edition of Monday Night Raw WWE Champion Drew McIntyre successfully defended his WWE Championship against Keith Lee in the main event.
After the match Drew was getting ready to celebrate when Goldberg’s music hit, and the WWE Hall of Famer made his way to the ring to confront McIntyre.
Goldberg made it clear that he wants a shot at the WWE Championship when he challenged Drew to a title match at the Royal Rumble. Things then got heated when McIntyre said that fighting Goldberg would be like fighting his own dad, and then Goldberg followed up by shoving the champion.
Sportskeeda is reporting that Goldberg vs. Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble is what Vince McMahon wants, even though the creative team doesn’t want it.
“Vince thinks this match will propel Drew to the stratosphere of superstars,” a source claimed.
It’s also being reported that the match will be a one off, and current plans call for Drew McIntyre to retain.
