Now that WrestleMania has come and gone all eyes are looking ahead to the WWE Backlash premium live event next month and this year the show is set to take place from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that even though nothing is official right now it looks like Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes will be the main event for the show. It’s also being reported that Bad Bunny & Rey Mysterio vs. Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio and Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn & Matt Riddle vs. The Usos & Solo Sikoa are likely for the show.
Iyo Sky is set to challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at some point, but it’s not clear if that match will take place at Backlash or if it will just take place on TV.
WWE recently shot an angle for Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch, and the Observer notes that originally the match was planned for SummerSlam, but there’s some speculation that since the angle was already shot the program could include the Backlash premium live event as well.
Backlash will air live from Puerto Rico on Saturday, May 6. Stay tuned for more updates on the card as they become available.
