The WrestleMania Backlash premium live event is quickly approaching, and as of this writing WWE has yet to confirm plans for The Tribal Chief. Roman Reigns had a big night at WrestleMania 38 when he defeated Brock Lesnar to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, but now everyone is waiting to see who his next challenger will be.
Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown will feature an angle with Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that while McIntyre vs. Reigns hasn’t been confirmed for the main event it seems to be the direction WWE is going for WrestleMania Backlash.
“The 4/29 Smackdown show ends with Roman Reigns coming to blows with Drew McIntyre, which has looked to have been the logical main event for the show. We don’t have it confirmed that is the main event, but had been told Reigns was as of a week ago scheduled to headline and this was the apparent angle for that.”
The WrestleMania Backlash premium live event will air live on Sunday, May 8th. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
