Roman Reigns has been the WWE Universal Champion since September of last year, and since then he’s successfully defended his title multiple times.
On the most recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown it was determined that Adam Pearce will challenge The Tribal Chief for the belt at the Royal Rumble, but plans could change.
Dave Meltzer noted on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that Adam Pearce may not end up facing Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble. There’s speculation that Roman’s opponent for the Royal Rumble could get changed to Kevin Owens.
Originally WWE officials wanted to book Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. With Bryan entering the Royal Rumble instead he seems to be the favorite to face off against Reigns at WrestleMania.
