It’s an exciting time to be a WWE fan as some big debuts have been featured on WWE programming in recent months. Fans have been waiting patiently for the arrival of Rey Fenix, and WWE has confirmed that the former AEW International Champion will be making his debut during this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
During a recent episode of Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass Q&A, WrestleVotes that there was originally a backstage segment involving Nick Aldis and Andrade that was written into the recent SmackDown episode in Italy. Aldis was supposed to inform Andrade that a new talent would be coming to SmackDown, and he wanted Andrade to be the first to work with him.
The segment was cut, but the indication is that WWE at one point had plans for an Andrade vs. Rey Fenix match. It’s not clear at this point in time if that’s still the plan.
In addition to the debut of Rey Fenix it’s also been confirmed that Braun Strowman will be facing Jacob Fatu in a Last Man Standing match, and Naomi will be facing off against B-Fab on SmackDown this week.
