We’re only a few weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the card has been coming together recently. This week on Monday Night Raw it was announced that Edge and Finn Balor will face off at WrestleMania and they will collide inside Hell in a Cell.
During the promo Finn Balor teased that his demons could come out at WrestleMania which obviously got people talking about the possibility of The Demon returning. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that originally WWE planned for The Demon to face the Brood version of Edge inside Hell in a Cell at the Royal Rumble.
“At Royal Rumble, the match that was scheduled that they did not have because they had no time to build it up because Edge was doing a TV show – so it was moved – was ‘Demon’ Finn Balor against ‘Brood’ Edge in a Hell in a Cell match.”
It’s not clear at this point in time if The Demon vs. Brood Edge is still the plan for WrestleMania 39, but judging from Finn Balor’s comments on Monday night it seems that there’s at least a chance that we’ll be seeing Balor’s popular Demon gimmick on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
